What are you facing in life that seems insurmountable? Are you in relationship with someone who is struggling? Is love new and fun, old and wise, or slowly decaying? Two of my sisters passed away in their early 40’s five years apart. At the time I thought my parents would emotionally crumble and wither away but I was starkly wrong. I watched my parents lean on each other in ways I had never seen before. Dad cared for Mom with patient and gentle words of encouragement and never left her side. Mom supported Dad by accepting that his inability to talk about the losses was a way of fully trusting her with his grieving heart. Rather than blame or shame doctors, God, or each other, they persevered through unspeakable pain on a spiritual path to healing. What are you being challenged to endure? What choices will you make to persevere?
